PaperShip comes with PDF annotation tools to help you emphasize interesting results. In addition to text highlighting, we provide notes and drawing features which go far beyond most of the reference managers (available through in-app purchase on iPad and iPhone). PaperCut NG integrates with CUPS (Common UNIX Print System). CUPS is an open source print system. It's used by Apple in the Mac and is also used in may Linux distributions. These instructions explain how to add printers to your macOS device. If you have a district-issued laptop and need to add additional printers, please use Self Service to add new printers instead of Mobility Print. For specific directions, please see this article.

To add a printer

Important: Make sure your Mac is connected to a district WiFi network.

1. Navigate to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners.
2. Click the + icon under the Printers List.
3. The Add dialog is displayed. This dialog displays a list of all of the discovered printers in your current building.
4. Select a printer. The Name, Location, and Use is displayed.
5. Check that Use is set to Secure AirPrint.
6. If Secure AirPrint is not displayed:
   • Close the Add dialog.
   • Disconnect from the network.
   • Reconnect to the network.
   • Try again. If you still cannot see Secure AirPrint, submit a support ticket.
7. Click Add.
8. Print your document. When prompted enter your district-issued username and password.
9. Repeat for any other required printers.

Note: You area only able to print to the printers within the building you are currently located in, regardless if you have added them previously. To print to other buildings remotely, use PaperCut WebPrint.

Note: If you enter the wrong authentication details, macOS devices do not show any warning message; your job will just not print. If your job doesn’t print, check the Print Queue dialog. If the print job is there and has the message Held for authentication, click the refresh icon; then re-enter your login details.

Macpup is a completely free and open source operating system based on the minimalistic Puppy Linux distribution and built around the Enlightenment desktop environment.

Distributed as a minimal dual-arch Live CD

Being based on Puppy Linux, the distribution comes with a small Live CD ISO image of approximately 200MB in size, engineered to run on either 64-bit or 32-bit hardware platforms. You must write the ISO image to a CD disc or burn it onto a USB flash drive in order to boot it from the BIOS of a computer.

Minimal boot prompt

The boot prompt is also quite minimal, designed to allow the user to quickly start the live environment with default boot options or by loading the contents of the ISO image to RAM (system memory), ejecting the bootable medium. Advanced users can easily edit the boot options and add extra kernel parameters.

Beautiful desktop environment powered by Enlightenment

The beautiful desktop environment of Macpup is powered by Enlightenment, which does not look like a Mac OS X graphical session. It is comprised of a single panel/dock located on the bottom edge of the screen.

Default applications include the HomeBank personal finance manager, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, AbiWord word processor, Geany IDE, Leafpad text editor, Viewnior image viewer, InkLite vector graphics editor, mtPaint digital painting tool, Mozilla Firefox web browser, gFTP file transfer software, Transmission torrent downloader, uGet download manager and XChar IRC client.

Bottom line

While the main design goal of this Puppy Linux derivative is to provide users with a Mac OS X-like desktop experience, we have to disappoint our readers since it seems that the Enlightenment desktop environment does not look like a Mac OS X graphical desktop interface. However, it looks very nice the way it is and will run extremely fast on low-end computers.
